DESCRIPTION

Surfing XXL waves places brutally simple clear cut demands on a surfboard. Foremost is paddling mobility, catching waves with fluid entry, complete control dropping in, and getting to and turning off the bottom or face of the wave with maximum acceleration, projection, speed, stability, and control. The Sea Eagle is a fundamental and simple design featuring nuanced XXL Speed Box rocker, drawn out foil with volume shifted forward, and a convex bottom for minumum drag and maximum stability and control. This design is tested by and limited to extremely skilled, experienced and fit surfers for XXL waves.

DESIGN FEATURES

ROCKER Nuanced XXL Speed Box.

PROFILE & FOIL Drawn out foil with significant volume. Volume is shifted notably forward to create inertia and momentum for acceleration and projection.

OUTLINE Round Pin, Pin Tail, or Swallow.

BOTTOM CONTOURS Alternative bottom contours include vee entry to tri plane wide point to rolled panel vee wide point to tail, vee entry to tri plane wide point to very subtle and shallow single to double concave from wide point to tail, and reverse vee entry and wide point with spine fading to very subtle single to double concave from the wide point to the tail.

DECK & RAILS Flat or crowned deck. Sufficient rail volume with a well foiled rail profile offering maximum stability, control, and predictability.

SEA EAGLE ROCKER, PROFILE & FOIL

XXL SPEED BOX rocker features an area of reduced curve in mid board to promote maximum paddling, entry, acceleration, projection, and speed. The speed box extends forward to create inertia and momentum for paddling and aft for acceleration, projection, and speed. Entry rocker tuned to XXL conditions preceeds the speed box. Tail rocker is a long gradual smooth curve. The XXL Speed Box rocker can be fine tuned to a wide variety of heavy XXL and heavy water conditions. The profile or foil is shifted forward and features a beak nose. The forward foil promotes paddling, entry, acceleration, projection, and speed.

Note the area of straighter curves through the middle of the board highlighted in red with XXL wave nuanced entry and tail rocker

SEA EAGLE BOTTOM CONTOURS

TRI PLANE to ROLLED PANEL VEE bottom with moderately CROWNED DECK and moderately low crowned rail. Tri plane to rolled panel vee provides acceleration, projection, speed, and maneuverability, predictability, and control. The tri plane entry and wide point to rolled panel vee widepoint to tail is the optimum convex bottom. It offers excellent rail to rail transitions and acceleration on rail as if surfing on a nearly frictionless ball bearing. Crowned rail profile maintains control and stability.

REVERSE VEE to DOUBLE CONCAVE bottom with moderately CROWNED DECK and rail. Reverse vee double concave provides maximum acceleration, projection, speed, and maneuverability. Reverse vee double concaves feature a spine from nose to tail. The spine is vee in entry and shallow double concave wide point to tail. Vee is deepest in the nose and entry and reduced as it flows to the tail. Water flows from the rail the peak of the double concave at the center of the bottom creating additional lift, acceleration, and speed and with it's spine offers exceptional directional stability, power, and acceleration through turns. Optionally, reverse vee can feature a spine from nose and entry through the wide point to the tail with vee accelerating in the fins and tail. Crowned rail profile maintains control and stability.

TRI PLANE to ROLLED PANEL VEE bottom with FLAT DECK and chiseled down rail. Tri plane entry and wide point to rolled panel vee widepoint to tail for absolute minimum drag provides acceleration, projection, speed, and maneuverability. The tri plane entry and wide point to rolled panel vee widepoint to tail is the optimum convex bottom. Flat deck provides extra volume and stability. Chiseled down rail profile for critical control and stability.

TRI PLANE to SINGLE to DOUBLE CONCAVE bottom with FLAT DECK and chiseled down rail. Tri plane entry and wide point to a subtle and very shallow single to double concave widepoint to tail provides exceptional acceleration, projection, and speed. The spine of the double concave functions like a vee offering predictable directional stability. Flat deck provides extra volume and stability. Chiseled down rail profile provides control and stability.

Flat or Crowned decks and Chiseled or Crowned rails may be integrated with any of the Sea Eagle bottom contour options. Surf conditions and surfer preferences determine design combinations.
