[ The Peregrine Asymm ]
DESCRIPTION The Peregrine Asymm is an imaginative and progressive version of the Peregrine Series created in 2020s. This design was created to excel in a unique way in right hand point breaks and can be adapted to left handers by reflecting the design. The right hand or projection rail is designed for maximum projection, acceleration, and speed in fast, long, critical, and often hollow waves. The left hand or pivot rail is designed for tight down carves and cutbacks in the same waves. The fins are also asymmetrical featuring quads on the projection rail and a twin fin, thruster and or quad without a trailer on the pivot rail. The quads on the one rail maximize projection, acceleration, and speed. The twin, thruster, or quad on the other rail maximize quick and powerful pivotal turns. The Peregrine Asymm, like all the evolving Peregrine Series designs, combines Redtail rockers and foils for projection, acceleration, speed and control with Peregrine outlines for lift, quickness, and maneuverability. Rockers, profiles, and foils adopted from the Redtail offer maximum projection, acceleration, speed and control. Outlines adopted from the Peregrine create more surface area and curve from wide point to tail. The extra surface area and curve offer maneuverability with lift and release. The combination of these primary design features from the Retail and the Peregrine creates a board that excels across the whole spectrum of waves and conditions. The Peregrine Asymm features low tail rocker and deep concaves. The low tail rocker increases projection, acceleration, and speed. The deep concaves create extra curve in the rail rocker maintaining quickness, tight turning radii, and maximum maneuverability. The projection rail bottom features vee through the fins to the tail and two deep channels. Quad fins on the projection rail are placed precisely on the high side the channels. The pivot rail features a deep single concave deepest in front of the fins and fading through the tail. The Peregrine Asymm offers maximum performance in any size waves from knee high to well overhead, any conditions from marginal to powerful, and in mellow to critical waves. DESIGN FEATURES ROCKERS Speed Box rocker is the primary rocker for the Peregrine Asymm. Speed box rocker is versatile and maximizes performance in all waves and conditions. Optional Continuous rocker for particularly critical, vertical, and barreling waves. Relaxed Rocker for marginal waves. PROFILE & FOIL Moderate foil with sufficient volume throughout to support the surfer in marginal conditions yet foiled enough for complete control in critical waves. OUTLINES Swallow projection rail and RPT pivot rail. BOTTOM CONTOURS Shallow vee in entry, moderate single concave starting between entry and wide point. Deep single concave wide point to tail reaching maximum depth near the leading edge of fins fading through the fins to the tail. Optional single to double concave from the wide point to the tail. Both bottom contours offer considerable lift, acceleration, and speed. The projection rail bottom features vee through the fins to the tail and two deep channels. Quad fins on the projection rail are placed precisely on the high side the channels. The pivot rail bottom features a deep single concave deepest in front of the fins and fading through the tail. RAILS Moderately low crowned profile. Rail volume varies with surfer's size, technique, and preference - more rail volume for techniques that generates greater displacement - less rail volume for light footed techniques. By surfer preference heel side rail profile can be fuller and toe side rail profile can have a lower apex and less volume. See essays on volume and displacement for more insight on how surfer and technique relate to volume and rail volume in board design. |

PEREGRINE ASYMM ROCKER OPTIONS |
| |
SPEED BOX rocker is the primary rocker option for the Peregrine
Asymm. These designs feature an area of reduced curves under the
surfer's torso and hips when paddling and under the surfer's stance
when surfing. The Speed Box can vary moderately in length and
position. The integrated tail and entry rockers are tuned to surfer's
technique and surf venues and conditions. This rocker profile can be
fine tuned to a wide variety of conditions.

| |
|
| |
CONTINUOUS rocker features a continuous curve from nose to tail
with minimum reduction of curve mid board. They excel in crisp,
critical, steep, and barreling waves. These conditions generally
provide all the speed and power required for solid performance
surfing. The continuous rocker profile keeps the board free and loose
in the pocket and in the tight transitions experienced in critical
and challenging waves without compromising projection, acceleration,
and speed.

| |
|
| |
RELAXED ROCKERS feature low tail rocker and relaxed entry rocker.
This rocker profile excels in marginal and moderate conditions by
generating and carrying speed in and out of the pocket without
sacrificing control in powerful surf.

RELAXED ROCKER - Note the relaxed lower rocker in the nose and tail compared with the Speed Box Rocker highlighted in blue. The relaxed rocker's speed box is highlighted in red |

PEREGRINE ASYMM BOTTOM CONTOUR OPTIONS |
| |
|
| |
VEE to SINGLE CONCAVE with crowned deck and moderately crowned rails. The Vee in nose and entry create additional control and stability and help initiate rail to rail transitions. As water flows from rail to rail at any angle in a single concave it organically creates maximum lift and performance features. Single concaves provides acceleration, projection, speed, and maneuverability. Crowned deck and rail profiles maintain control and stability. |

VEE to SINGLE to DOUBLE CONCAVE with crowned deck and moderately crowned rails. The Vee in nose and entry create additional control and stability and help initiate rail to rail transitions. The way water flows from the rail the peak of the double concave at the stringer (center of the board) creates additional lift and with it's spine offers directional stability through turns. Single to double concave provides acceleration, projection, speed, and maneuverability. Crowned deck and rail profiles maintain control and stability. |

PEREGRINE ASYMM FIN LAYOUT |
| |
|
| |
ASYMMETRICAL FIN LAYOUT The projection rail features quads and the pivot rail features a twin fin, thruster and or quad without a trailer. The quads on the one rail maximize projection, acceleration, and speed and the twin, thruster and or quad without trailer on the other rail maximize quick pivotal turns. |
