[ The Speed Egg ]
DESCRIPTION
The Speed Egg is a versatile and sublime design inspired by and
created and developed with legendary surf gypsy
Rob Yuen
from his lifetime of surfing the
points, reefs, and beaches on the Pacific Coast from Oregon to Baja. Rob's
surfing history, his diverse design experience, and his interaction with
surfers up and down the coast are the origins of this design. Long before the
current trend of mid length designs on offer in surf culture and in the surf
market, Rob connected with us to create the Natural Curves Speed Egg. The Speed
Egg is designed for knee high to overhead waves and all conditions. The design
features a relaxed speed box or an extremely low continuous rocker and the
classic Diffenderfer convex bottom featuring tri plane entry and wide point to
panel vee from wide point to tail. These are the key features of this versatile
design. The design's simplicity is fundamental to it's sublime and effortless
carve, trim and glide performance. The outline features a full nose and a
classic round pin tail and has substantial surface area for paddling, catching
waves, and stability and control riding waves. The primary fin set up for the
Speed Egg is the classic 2 x 1, but it's also available as a thruster, quad, or
twin fin. The Speed Egg is a design so basic it will literally surf itself.
Skilled surfers can enjoy surfing a NCRV Speed Egg in any waves and conditions.
Intermediate and novice surfers can turn, trim and glide in the waves and
conditions they surf. Beginner surfers can accelerate their learning curve
enjoying the Speed Egg's paddling, stability, and control. This classic and
versatile design combines the thrills of mid length trim and glide and
shortboard carves and turns. As it's name implies, the Speed Egg is a very fast
surfboard.
