[ The Speed Egg ]
The Speed Egg is a
design developed by Rob Yuen during his years of surfing the points,
reefs, and beaches on the Pacific Coast from Oregon to Baja. RY's
experience and interaction with surfers up and down the coast
contributed to this design. Extremely low continuous rocker and a
convex bottom, the Greenough - Diff combination of tri plane entry
and wide point to panel vee through the last third of the board - are
the key elements of this versatile design. Primary fin set up is the
classic 2 x 1, but the Speed Egg is also available as a thruster,
quad, or convertible. The design is so basic it will surf itself. A
skilled surfer can put a Natural Curves Speed Egg to use in a very
wide variety of conditions - a novice surfer can trim and glide in
the full variety of conditions they may encounter. This classic and
versatile design combines the thrills of glide and carve. As it's
original name implies, the Speed Egg is a very fast surfboard. Design
features - Rocker: Low Continuous. Profile: Drawn out
foil with significant volume. Outline: Round Pin. Bottom
Contours: Vee or tri plane entry to tri plane wide point to panel
vee wide point to tail. Rails: Moderately full rail with
foiled rail profile for control for bigger surfers. Lower moderately
